The Project Development Objective (PDO) of KALAHI-CIDSS is the “empowerment of local communities through improved participation in local governance and involvement in the design and implementation of poverty reduction projects.” Empowerment of poor communities assisted by KALAHI-CIDSS is being achieved, as indicated by the following KALAHI-CIDSS Project outcomes:
- Enhanced Community Capacity ( 13 Articles ) Community members in KALAHI-CIDSS areas have acquired or improved knowledge, skills, attitudes and practices from KALAHI-CIDSS capability building assistance provided.
- Poverty Alleviation Benefits ( 1 Articles ) Community structures have taken action addressing their community poverty problems, through implementation of small-scale projects funded by KALAHI-CIDSS within standard technical, financial, economic and sustainability criteria.
- Improved LGU Responsiveness ( 7 Articles ) Community participation in KALAHI-CIDSS has helped communities mobilize better LGU responsiveness to community needs. LGUs provide support and contributions for community projects as well as commit to integrate KALAHI-CIDSS participatory, transparent and accountable processes into regular LGU planning and implementation activities.
